ProCare Business Unit Page | Stryker

Overview

The differences in how ProCare is offered between business units while marketing it under a single brand name poses challenges in effective customer communication. As a result, ProCare content is strategically placed throughout the site so that the appropriate level of detail is provided to customers based on the page they are viewing.

ProCare content appears in four main areas of the site:

  1. Company-wide ProCare page under "Services": Content for this page is managed in collaboration with the ProCare brand leaders from each group and the Company brand team
  2. Business unit-specific ProCare page: Content is managed by the ProCare team within each business unit
  3. ProCare Services badge on covered products: Content is managed by the ProCare team in collaboration with the product managers
  4. ProCare contact information: Contact details are managed by the Business unit's Stryker.com content manager

This information covers details for item #2 in the list above.

Prerequisites for a business-unit specific ProCare page

  • All products must have a "Product / (Business Unit) / (Product Name)" tag
  • The Company wide ProCare page lists the product groups covered by ProCare services (e.g. beds, cameras, navigation instruments, etc.); a service tag "Services / ProCare / (Business Unit) / (Covered product group)" must exist in the tagging application for every group listed on the company wide page. For example:

Services / ProCare / Acute Care / Beds
Services / ProCare / Acute Care / Surfaces
Services / ProCare / Acute Care / Stretchers

Required content

  • Page properties: thumbnail, title, subtitle and description
  • Contact button
  • Covered products

Governance

  • The business unit-specific ProCare page will not be reflected in the global navigation; the primary navigation to ProCare should be through the Company wide ProCare page that speaks to the service offering as a whole
  • A list of "Covered Products" on the Company wide ProCare page will provide visitors with the ability to navigate to the respective business unit's ProCare page
  • On the business unit ProCare page, businesses can speak to the service offering as it pertains to their products
  • ProCare contact information (addresses, service phone numbers) will be managed only on the contact page of the respective Business Units so all information can be managed and updated in one place

Setting up the page

1. Navigate to your business unit section in AEM and create a new node named “Services” using the generic template. This "page" is not intended to be displayed to visitors; it is for site organization only.

2. Select the new "Services" node and create a new page named "ProCare" using the System template. Edit the page.

3. Open the page properties and apply the following tags

  • Business unit / (your business unit)
This will determine which page the "Contact" button will navigate to
  • Services / ProCare
This will allow products tagged to ProCare to dynamically appear on the page

4. Populate your business content for ProCare, ensuring the minimum content for a system page is met.

5. Remove the Product Listing component that is present on the page by default and add the “Product Groups” component by select the area on the page to insert it and clicking the (+) icon.

6. Configure the Product Groups component:

  • Give it a title “Covered Products”
  • Click on the folder for the search path and click on the “en” node, make sure that it is "us/en".

7. Click in the Group name field, type the name of the products that will be covered by ProCare for example “Beds” as it appears in the Company wide page.

8. Click on the tag folder and navigate to "Services / ProCare / (Your Business) / (Your ProCare Product Groups)"

For example: Services / ProCare / Acute Care / Beds

8. If you have another group to add, repeat steps 7-8. Then click the check mark to save the configuration.

Next, tag the specfic products that you should appear on this page by following the steps under "Tagging covered products".

Tagging covered products

1. Navigate to the product page that should be listed on
this page.

2. Under page properties, add the appropriate ProCare product group tag. For example “Services / ProCare / Acute Care / Beds”

3. Make sure that the product page that you just tagged has a thumbnail image, and save the page properties by clicking the check in the upper right corner.

4. Navigate to the Business unit ProCare page and refresh. The product page you just tagged should now appear under the appropriate product group.
