AEM notifications allow people to get email alerts for when page activities happen in a specific area of the site (e.g. edits, activation, deactivation, delete)
1. In a browser, login to AEM author and go to notifications inbox.
2. Click "Configure..." in the tool bar.
3. In the dropdown, select EMAIL.
Do not select "Inbox"; it is limited to only the most recent activity and requries you to manually navigate to the page for alerts.
Check the boxes for the types of activity you want to be notified about. (e.g. Activated, deactivated, edited, etc.)
4. Under "Define Packages" click ADD. In the row that appears, click the column under "Path" and enter the content path of the site for which you want to recieve alerts.
Tip: Navigate to through the folder structure down to the folder you want to monitor and copy and paste the URL text starting from "/content" to the folder you want to monitor.
For example, if your business unit is Endoscopy and you want to get alerts for any activity that happens under the us/en site for Endoscopy, enter: /content/stryker/us/en/endoscopy
It is important NOT to have a slash after the last item in the path.
5. Click the "Exact" column and select NO in the dropdown. This will allow you to receive alerts for any content changes under the Endoscopy folder.
Click the "Rule" column and select ALLOW.
6. Repeat steps 4 & 5 to add a row for every section you want to get alerts about.
7. Click OK.
You will begin getting emails for any activity that takes place in the sections of the site you have configured.
