Uploading assets for Highspot or eCommerce

Uploading image assets into the DAM enable authors to generate multiple renditions from a single file.

Prerequisites:
  • Users must have PUBLISHER or UPDATER access to their folder in the DAM
  • Images cannot be wider than 5000px
  1. Go to the DAM and navigate to your business unit's folder.
  2. Upload the asset to the appropriate sub-folder and then publish the asset by selecting "Quick Publish".

The asset should be loaded in the highest resolution for the target purpose.

3. Once it is published, to get the URL for the asset, click on the asset to open it.

4. Expand the left rail and choose the rendition for the size needed

5. Select one of the options from the DYNAMIC section of the list based on the desired final image size.

The rendition that displays the largest available version is MAX WIDTH 1440.

6. To get the URL of a dynamic rendition, select the desired version and then click the URL button at the bottom of the left rail. Copy and paste the URL that appears in the popup box.

How to get the original image size:

To get the image at a size larger the the 1440 width, you will need to modify the URL.

NOTE: Images must be less than 5000px in width.

  1. Delete the "$" symbols and everything in between.
  2. After the "?" character, add "scl=1". This will serve the image at the original scale.

Example: https://media-assets.stryker.com/is/image/stryker/Altrix_with_nurse_2_trim?scl=1

TIP:
Assets cannot be deleted by PUBLISHERS or UPDATERS. It is recommend that assets are ‘versioned’ rather than deleted, if an asset needs to be revised, upload it with the same file name select “Create Version.”

It is recommended that users train to become PUBLISHERS because lower level permissions (UPDATERS) cannot publish assets from the DAM.
