Rich text editor (RTE)
Overview
Rich Text Editor enables authors to create free form paragraphs of text. This will be the primary component authors will use to create page copy.
The configuration details for this component are described below.
- Show dimensional box: Renders a dropshadow effect around the RTE box
- Background color: Renders a solid color or gradient behind the text
- Gradient Direction: Sets the direction of the gradient
- Invert Gradient Direction: Reverses the direction of the gradient set above
Good to know:
- Text color can be customized to black, white, gold, gray or any of the brand complementary colors
- Background colors can be set to create a colored block of copy
- Fonts size are in EM units which is based on a base font size of 14px. As a result, fonts will remain the same size regardless of the browser width. Content will reflow as needed.
- The AEM tool bar allows you to select multiple font sizes. This can cause unpredictable results. It is recommended that you first de-select a font size before applying another font size.
- Test your composition across various browser widths and select the size that provides the most compatible layout.
Governance
The author is responsible for using the right combination of fonts, colors and background effects that is brand compliant.

Rich text editor
A new button has been added to the RICH TEXT EDITOR component. This button allows authors remove any text formatting attributes so that they can quickly undo styles with a single click and rebuild the formatting from the ground up. In the past, authors would have to select the text and then remove the font face, size, and color one by one.
