Remote Component
A REMOTE COMPONENT provides a mechanism to deliver extended functionality to a webpage beyond what is available through AEM platform components. Businesses can create business-specific functionality as a 3rd party component and present them on AEM webpages by using the REMOTE COMPONENT. Examples of 3rd party components are ROI calculators, complex forms, etc.
For a 3rd party component to appear as an option in the REMOTE COMPONENT configuration list, it must be:
- Built according to Co-ordinated iFrame Specification View whitepaper
- Hosted on a server managed by Stryker's IT group
- Ownership transferred to Stryker's IT with appropriate documentation
- Registered as a Remote Component by the Marketing Operations site admin
1. Coordinate with IT and the Marketing Operations team to register your 3rd party component so that it is available as a Remote Component.
2. Add a Remote Component to your webpage and select your component from the drop down menu.
3. The component will render on the page as shown in the example below.
