Local page navigation

Local page navigation allows authors to build several children pages to provide additional details about a main (parent) topic.

A third level navigation bar will appear below the global navigation to provide visitors with the ability to navigate between parent and children pages.

Configuration

• Number of children to display: Sets the limit of child links that render. If the number of pages exceed the set limit, the remaining pages will appear under an ellipsis (...).
• Enable local page navigation: Causes the local navigation to display
• Hide bottom line: Hides the line that appears above the navigation bar
• Hide top line: Hides the line that appears below the navigation bar

Good to know:

• In the local navigation bar, the parent page will appear left aligned; child pages will appear right aligned
• Configure the local page navigation settings in the parent template
• Children pages automatically inherit the local navigation from its parent
  
• Only certain templates support the local page navigation
• Navigation labels will automatically be determined by the page titles
• If the label that appears in the navigation bar should be different than the page title, set the Navigation title in the corresponding page's page properties
• Only 1 level of pages will be supported in the navigation. If other pages are built under children, they will not be represented in the menu.
