Each year, millions of people suffer from a variety of sinus conditions that impact their quality of life. Stryker ENT instruments offers a wide range of treatment options to allow doctors to best treat their patients. Learn more about the various conditions Stryker ENT can help to treat.
Chronic sinusitis is an inflammation or swelling of the sinus lining and drainage pathways, which can lead to blocked sinuses. It can be brought on by several different issues and can be difficult to treat. Symptoms tend to persist and reoccur frequently despite the use of medicine. Sinusitis can affect both adults and children and the condition can have a negative impact on their lives.1
The XprESS® balloon dilation system provides a safe and effective treatment option for chronic sinusitis. It is procedure performed to expand the sinus drainage pathways.2 This technique allows for the opening of the sinuses while preserving tissue and important nasal structures.3

Eustachian tube dysfunction (ETD) is defined as the ear's inability to appropriately equalize pressure. ETD can lead to chronic ear pressure, pain or discomfort with pressure changes. Typically, when you yawn, sneeze, or swallow, your eustachian tubes- small passageways that run between your middle ear and upper throat- open to keep pressure and fluid from building up. When these eustachian tubes are blocked, this is when you might feel a fullness in your ear or your hearing may be muffled.5
The Audion® ET and XprESS® ENT dilation systems provide a safe, effective and less invasive treatment for people with Eustachian tube dysfunction. During this procedure, your doctor will insert a small balloon through your nose and into your Eustahian tube. The balloon will then be gently inflated, and after treatment, removed. The procedure can be performed under local anesthesia.6,7

Nasal airway obstruction (NAO) is a condition in which the nasal passages are blocked and prevent a normal amount of air from passing through the nose. NAO can occur because of a structural abnormality in the nose or because of inflammation and swelling of the nasal passages.9 With nasal breathing delivering approximately 70% of airflow to the lungs10, any blockage that limits airflow can cause significant quality-of-life consequences.11
LATERA® is an absorbable nasal implant used to support the upper and lower cartilage inside the lateral (side) wall of your nose. Supporting the cartilage may reduce nasal airway obstruction symptoms and help you breathe better.12

Chronic rhinitis is frequent inflammation of the nose with symptoms such as a runny nose, nasal congestion and post-nasal drip (mucus in the throat).14 It’s what you experience when overactive nerves send too many signals to your nose, causing it to drip, run and swell more than necessary.15 Historically, patients with chronic rhinitis have had limited treatment options including nasal sprays, drops, pills and allergy shots.16
ClariFix® helps get to the root of chronic rhinitis- the overactive nerves. Using a minimally invasive treatment called cryotherapy, the ClariFix (trademark) device applies controlled freezing to the the target tissue. Talk with your doctor to determine if you could benefit from this procedure.
