NICO Systems solutions

access

Access

Through the natural corridors of the brain using a trans-sulcal and parafascicular route

illuminate

Illuminate

Enhanced visualization enabling flexibility for surgical optics

remove

Remove

Non-ablative, non-ultrasonic, resection for tumor removal and ICH clot evacuation

collect and preserve

Collect and preserve

Intraoperative tissue collection and biological preservation for potential pathological analysis

brainpath

BrainPath

BrainPath is part of a systems approach for parafascicular, trans-sulcal access to address:

  • Primary and secondary tumors
  • Vascular abnormalities and malformations
  • Intraventricular tumors and cysts

BrainPath is part of a systems approach for parafascicular, trans-sulcal access to address:

  • Atraumatic tip designed to minimize tissue disruption during advancement to the surgical site
  • Securely locks in navigation pointers during placement
  • Frosted outer sheath designed to visualize nearby anatomy and minimize light reflection
  • Variable obturator lengths to reach shallow or deep subcortical abnormalities
  • Two obturator diameters for trans-sulcal access, enabling bi-manual surgical technique

NICO Spectra System

Spectra (NICO’s 3rd Generation Myriad System) enables, brain tumor removal and clot evacuation with the ability to toggle between white and blue excitation light, to aid in visualization of suspected grade III or IV gliomas.

Spectra is the first of its kind to enable hand-held directional light coupled with non-ablative, non-thermal resection to complement the surgical workflow.

NICO Myriad Handpiece

Myriad is used for resection and removal of soft tissue and fluids under direct visualization.

  • Automates resection
  • Does not generate heat to achieve tissue removal without heat injury to adjacent critical structures1
  • Non-ablative, mechanical cutting technology for precise, usercontrolled tissue resection2
  • Enhanced access in narrow corridors due to low profile design3
  • Malleable cannula designed to help optimize access4
  • Minimizes “in-and-out”of the surgical field
  • User-controlled variable aspiration
  • Tissue captured in sterile, closed system for use in post-procedure tissue processing

Automated Preservation System

Tissue collection

All tissue removed with the Myriad can be collected for post-procedural analysis

Tissue preservation

Immediate refrigeration of tissue, while limiting exposure to the atmosphere

Less variability

Standardizes intraoperative specimen handling and reduces variability that may occur with manual collection

Enables efficiences

Fully automated system is designed to provide an efficient process for regionalizing samples by intratumor location
