The Inbone Total Ankle System is a modular prosthesis installed via the first and only intramedullary alignment system.1
Since its inception in 2005, the Inbone Total Ankle System has continued to be one of the most distinctive and innovative total ankle replacement systems on the market. Even 20 years after its launch as the first total ankle system designed to provide intramedullary instrumentation1 for accurate component positioning, the Inbone Total Ankle System continues to be one of the top choices for ankle arthroplasty surgeons around the globe.
Enhanced tibial fixation for complex primaries
The Inbone Total Ankle System is used in both a primary and revision setting among total ankle arthroplasty surgeons.
With its iconic modular, stemmed tibial prosthesis, the Inbone Total Ankle System provides a physician with flexibility in selecting stem height for each patient based on patient size, bone structure, and individual needs.
Published clinical results of 98% survivorship at 5 years shows why the Inbone Total Ankle System has remained one of the top choices for total ankle replacement for nearly twenty years.
Key benefits
Long stems
In the past, ankle replacements have suffered from poor fixation, since long tibial stems could not be placed into the ankle. Unlike the knee, the ankle does not have the articulation range that would allow a long stem to be inserted. And in contrast to the hip, the ankle cannot be dislocated to allow long stem access.
The Inbone Total Ankle System has addressed this problem by creating a patented, modular stem system. By dropping small, interconnecting stem pieces into the joint space, a surgeon can build a tibial stem piece by piece, as long or as short as a patient may need.
This enables the prosthesis to gain fixation like that of knees or hips, without weakening the anterior portion of the tibia.
