Vocera platform telephony

Vocera® Telephony is designed for Vocera Administrators that want to further extend their Vocera solution with integration to existing PBX systems, corporate paging and voicemail systems and the public telephone network.

Students learn about basic telephony structure, terms, and advantages of configuring or extending telephony within your organization. This course also teaches how to use and configure access codes and toll or toll-free exceptions, how to allow telephone calls to connect directly to the Vocera Badge or Smartbadge, how to configure and use dynamic extensions, and how to configure telephony to be shared across multiple facilities.

  • Ability to quickly reach non badge users via existing communications infrastructure
  • Page personnel from your badge with direct callback back to the Vocera Badge
  • Speech to Touch dialing
  • High Availability, N+1 redundancy, scalability and load balancing

*This course does not apply to Vocera Voice version 5.x.

Audience: This course is designed for Vocera Administrators, PBX Administrators, and others seeking a thorough understanding of Vocera’s Telephony solution.

Prerequisite: Completion of Basic and Intermediate Vocera Platform 6 System Administration Training. Equivalent experience may be approved by the course instructor for students who can demonstrate the appropriate knowledge of Vocera Platform 6 or students with more than six months experience.

Technical requirements: To achieve maximum benefit from the course, we recommend students use the following equipment:

  • High speed Internet connection
  • Speaker phone
  • Two computer monitors (one to view the webinar; the other to view the labs)

This configuration provides a more interactive learning environment and is beneficial for performing lab exercises.

*Teams of two students may attend if students are located in a reserved training or conference room. Both students should have a basic knowledge of Vocera.
