Voice 5 Speech recognition best practices

Speech recognition is a cornerstone of the Vocera system which enables intuitive call-by-name and call-by-role functionality. This lends to efficient, effective communications which streamline workflow. This course does not apply to Vocera Platform 6.

When speech recognition accuracy is hampered, it renders the use of Vocera less effective and can generate dissatisfaction and frustration among the user community. This half-day course covers the tools, tips, and best practices of troubleshooting and improving speech recognition accuracy to reduce dissatisfaction and increase user adoption.

Audience: This course is designed for Vocera System Administrators.

  • Design report packages to meet the needs of your user community
  • Frequently called departments and adaptation
  • Fundamentals of Speech Recognition
  • How to record utterances of users experiencing speech recognition problems
  • Learn about Speech Reports and how they can assist in troubleshooting speech errors
  • Learn how and when to use the Pronounce Tool
  • Learn how to train the Genie
  • Learn to use the Task Scheduler
  • The differences between Alternate Spoken Names and Custom Dictionary

*This course does not apply to Vocera Platform 6.

Requirements: To enroll in this course, students must receive approval from a System Administrator, Primary or Designated Support Contact, or other Management representative.

To achieve maximum benefit from the course, we recommend teams of two students with a basic knowledge of the Vocera system and access to a training/conference room set with the following equipment:

  • High speed Internet connection
  • Speaker phone
  • LCD projector

Two computers (one to project the webinar; the other to view the GoToMyPC remote connection)

This configuration provides a more interactive learning environment and is beneficial for performing lab exercises.

*Teams of two students may attend if students are located in a reserved training or conference room. Both students should have a basic knowledge of Vocera.
