Stryker Introduces New Advanced Imaging Modalities To Minimally Invasive Surgery With The 1588 AIM Platform |
Stryker Endoscopy, a division of Stryker Corporation, announced today the launch of the 1588 AIM Platform , a connected surgical video system that enables clinicians to visually differentiate critical anatomy across an array of minimally invasive surgical procedures. The 1588 AIM platform is designed to reduce risk to patients by enabling surgeons to distinguish, safeguard and document critical anatomy. "As surgeons, we need to work hard to provide the best possible outcomes for our patients," explained Dr. Scott Melvin, Director of General Surgery at Montefiore Medical Center. Stryker's VertaPlex® HV First PMMA to Receive Clearance for Treating Sacral Insufficiency Fractures |
The Instruments division of Stryker Corporation announced that its Interventional Spine business unit has received clearance from The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to market its expanded indications of VertaPlex HV for the treatment of sacral insufficiency fractures. Stryker set a new standard in 2008 with the release of VertaPlex HV, addressing specific viscosity and working time preferences for treating vertebral compression fractures. On June 12, 2015, VertaPlex HV became the first PMMA to receive 510(k) clearance for the fixation of pathological fractures of the sacral vertebral body or ala using sacral vertebroplasty or sacroplasty. |

Ziehm Imaging and Stryker Partner to Provide Surgical Navigation with the Ziehm Vision RFD 3D |
Ziehm Imaging and the Navigation Division of Stryker Corporation announced a co-marketing agreement in which Stryker Navigation will promote Ziehm’s Vision RFD 3D C-arm for the specialties of neurosurgery, spine surgery, orthopaedic surgery and trauma surgery. The Ziehm Vision RFD 3D is the world’s only 3D C-arm with a 30 cm x 30 cm flat-panel detector that combines 2D and 3D functionality in one device providing surgeons the ability to create 3D reconstructions in the operating room to ensure all implants have been optimally placed. The Ziehm Vision RFD 3D offers a 25 kW generator with an iterative reconstruction algorithm and patented SmartScan rotation to offer 180° image information of anatomical structures. A Tale of Two SUD Reprocessing Programs: How Two Similar Health Systems Can Achieve Very Different Savings Results in the EP Lab |
This article was collaboratively written by Duke University Medical Center and WakeMed to document their experiences with SUD reprocessing and share lessons learned with other EP labs. In 2011, WakeMed began outsourcing reprocessing to third-party vendor Stryker Sustainability Solutions. Outsourcing reprocessing not only saved WakeMed valuable time, but also gave WakeMed insight on how to optimize its program and streamline processes for savings growth. Stryker Corporation announced today the completion of its previously announced acquisition of Muka Metal, A.S. ("Muka"). Muka is a privately held business headquartered in Kayseri, Turkey that sells hospital beds, stretchers and related patient room furniture and accessories that serve markets across Turkey and other regions globally. As indicated in the July 20, 2015 press release, the transaction is expected to be neutral to Stryker's 2015 earnings per share excluding acquisition, integration-related and intangible amortization charges. |

This comprehensive platform was featured at booth #16 during the International Meeting on Advanced Spine Technologies (IMAST) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from July 8th - 10th.
