The Limerick site opened in 1972 and was acquired by Stryker in 1998. The facility is 129,000 sq. ft. and, using state-of-the-art manufacturing lines, specialises in the production of devices for joint replacements, CMF, Spine and T&E.

The Limerick Chamber held its Regional Business Awards on November 18th, in which Stryker was a finalist for both the “Best Employer: Employee Value Proposition” and “Best Sustainable Business” awards. The Limerick Chamber Regional Business Awards offer companies the opportunity to be acknowledged for their success, their people, and their innovation in progressing the Mid-West region of Ireland. Despite facing fierce competition, Stryker were successful in winning the Best Sustainable Business Award and were also recognised as Overall Business of the Year 2022.

The facility, where Stryker Limerick is based, was established in 1972 as Howmedica and acquired by Stryker in 1998.In recent years, the site has undergone significant upgrading and investment in new and leading-edge technology. Limerick is home to Stryker's Joint Replacement Knees and Bone Cement and is a centre of automation excellence. In November 2022, Stryker Limerick celebrated its 50th Anniversary.
