New DelhiSeptember 25, 2024 – Stryker, a global leader in medical technologies, announced the launch of its groundbreaking 1788 Advanced Imaging Platform in India, continuing its legacy of excellence in surgical visualization. The 1788 platform is Stryker’s most comprehensive and sophisticated surgical visualization system to date, designed for use across multiple specialties and providing surgeons with enhanced imaging capabilities for improved patient outcomes.

Building on decades of innovation in surgical camera systems, the 1788 platform delivers vibrant, high-resolution 4K images that enable surgeons to visualize critical anatomy with greater clarity. The platform features advanced fluorescence imaging capabilities, offering clearer perfusion imaging and detailed visualization of complex anatomical structures.

"Stryker partnered with our surgeon users to design the 1788 platform to be a powerful partner in the OR and to enhance the surgical experience across specialties. This is another way in which Stryker is living up to its rich legacy of delivering the most innovative surgical technology to help surgeons support improved patient outcomes," said Andrés Rosales, Vice President and General Manager of Stryker's Endoscopy business.

Aman Rishi, Vice President and General Manager – India, said, “Fluorescence-guided surgery is emerging as a promising solution, enabling surgeons to better visualize perfusion, tumors and critical anatomy intraoperatively. The 1788 imaging platform is a new benchmark for surgical imaging with enhanced user experience and most advanced fluorescence imaging capabilities, helping bring our mission of making healthcare better with our customers to life. We are excited about the launch and making this technology accessible to surgeons in India."

The 1788 platform is compatible with the currently marketed imaging agents and adaptable to new agents and fluorescence modes as they become available.

The advances in this technology also enable a broader range of clinical applications and enhance additional specialties, including urology, thoracic/lungs, neurology, and ear, nose and throat.

Notable features of the 1788 platform include:

  • Wider color gamut for 62.5x more visible colors
  • Improved fluorescence imaging with better consistency
  • High dynamic range and new tone mode for more balanced lighting
  • The CSF mode (Color Segmented Fluorescence) shows a color map based on ICG intensities, especially useful for perfusion assessment and lymph node mapping
  • This platform is future-ready, supporting imaging agents like CYTALUX®, and is paired with an all-new OLED display for a truly premium 4K experience
